Eligibility and Application
The Application Process:  A complete application package  includes:
  1.         A completed application form, a pdf form document that can be edited in a pdf reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or Mac Preview, available here and either submitted electronically (mathreu@oakland.edu) or printed and sent to the address at the right.
 
  1.         A brief essay (one typed double spaced page, pdf or Word (doc) format) describing your interests in mathematics or statistics and in this program.  What kinds of problems do you like to work with?  What are your graduate school plans?
 
  1.         A Word (doc) or pdf document, that can be submitted electronically  containing the following information:
         
 
 
 
 
  1.     Two recommendation letters from professors who are familiar with your work. The letters should be sent by the professor, either electronically (in doc or pdf format to (mathreu@oakland.edu ) or in sealed envelopes to the mailing address listed at the right.
 
  1.         Transcript of grades (even unofficial) from your school. Transcripts may be submitted electronically (mathreu@oakland.edu) or sent to the address listed at the right.
 
General Eligibility:   Although the program is open to all students, our goal is to focus on enhancing career opportunities for women and other underrepresented minority students in the mathematics and statistics.
    Student must be U. S. citizens or permanent residents
    Student must be enrolled as an undergraduate in the fall of 2008
    Students may not take classes or hold other jobs during the 8 week program
    Students must have taken calculus and have some programming background.  Further requirements may include one or more of linear algebra, differential equations, an intro course in statistics, and/or a course in modern algebra.
